Order from somewhere else
Ordered prints seven days before a big event we're hosting at our home. Two days later, I received an email that they had shipped. I tried to track the package and it said that it wasn't in the system. I thought maybe the package hadn't been picked up yet. Three days later when I hadn't received the prints or any updates, I checked again. The tracking number doesn't exist. Bye bye Shutterfly.

Sold me $162 out of stock item and I have to fight for a refund. Never again.
Non-existent customer service. I placed a 6-item order in early May. Five of the items (prints on canvas and metal) were delivered on-time and were perfect. The remaining item (a framed print) never arrived, even though I had been given a specific delivery date (May 23-24th). After me contacting Shutterfly MANY times and being told that my order was simply delayed, I finally learn that the frame for my print is out of stock, so that item is unavailable. Shutterfly charged me in full a month ago and NEVER ONCE reached out to me to tell me I wouldn't be receiving my $150+ item. I've used this company many, many times over the years, but don't think I will in the future. If anything goes wrong with an order, it's simply an unorganized mess. **Editing to follow up: Shutterfly offered me a gift certificate for the value of the out of stock item. I told them I did not want a gift certificate, I wanted a refund to my credit card. The customer service person said no problem, that the refund would take 5-7 days. Hours later, I receive an auto-email from Shutterfly indicating a gift certificate for $162.31 has been issued to my Shutterfly account as a refund. It looks like I now have to fight to get my $$ back for an item they never should have charged me for because it was never even in stock. Edited again: After talking to customer support *again*, I have finally received a $162 refund back to my credit card. Overall, very disappointed in this experience w/Shutterfly -- the bottom line is that I had to initiate contact repeatedly to find out why I wasn't receiving an order that had a promised delivery date in May. Surely a company this large can put tools into place to ensure a *proactive* approach to order issues. When I have printing needs, I will look for other providers in the future.

I've NEVER had such horrible customer service
I've NEVER had customer service this poor- It never allowed me to sign in to my account. When I tried to reset password, it never sent me a link by email to do so. I tried the digital assistant and after the 7th try and putting in my email time after time, I asked to speak to a person. the response was that they created a case # for me (I must have at least 8 by now, lol) and was told to 'hang in there' as there were other customers. then it blocked me from any response. I will never use them again, but unfortunately , they have all my photobook pictures and they are all in order. I don't have the time to go through all this again. It was a gift for a friend with a brand new business. It obviously won't be delivered anywhere near on time. I can't even finish the project, let alone log in to save it. The site says I'm in danger of losing the project if I don't sign in. I don't know what to do. I'm furious with them and if I could rate them with a "0," I absolutely would. there is not a person to speak with. they refer you to the assistant or trouble shooting each time and it is the same exact response every single time. I feel like a number, not a customer. I'll never recommend them. They used to be okay. Not anymore.

I just got my photo book and I am very disappointed. It took almost 2 weeks and the quality is horrible! I used Shutterfly all the time for my year photo book and it was amazing quality. This last one is very disappointing.. I can't even look at it. The print is horrible, just horrible!!

Checkout was a nightmare
Checkout was a nightmare, so many added costs that were not shown at the beginning (over 40CAD more than what was estimated while making the photo book). And at checkout the prices were only in USD. The editing interface doesn’t allow to correct photos that are not straight after uploading. It’s complicated to ajust photos onto the pages it you want something different than the templates, same for adding text. Moreover the photo book 8x11 only had one option for cover and page (hard cover and standard page, standard binding). When it arrived the print on the first page does not go up to the biding, leaving a weird white strip. I only tried shutterfly because I had a 50% discount and it still cost more than MixBook (that i often use). I will not order again from shutterfly, very disappointing Edit: I got in touch with customer service. They said the poor quality was not normal and they offered to send the order again free of charge and 25% refund. However, when it arrived it looked bad exactly the same as the first time.

Shutterfly faked erasing all our pictures so it can put them back if we buy something. It was a scam from the beginning. Just like all of their lawsuit say. Sham discounts . The CEO should be ashamed of herself. Someone needs to start another lawsuit.

Not the memories I remember
Just received 500 photos from Shutterfly (2 separate orders) from a recent trip to the UK. $60 plus for shipping and handling. I'm a little disappointed that some photos have parts of heads cut off and the color isn't great. When I looked at the photos before ordering all looked fine. So not really sure what happened. I'm going to have to look for a proper photo shop to get some reprints. I thought I would try Shutterfly and if they were good order bigger prints for some.

Deleted all My photos since 2010 Im saved albums sent a last minute email Giving extension fro march 29 to May 30 And they lied none of my Kodak gallery was there I lost all My photos due to a fire. This is devastating

No communication about late delivery, no updates at all!
I ordered a photobook on 4/26 for my daughter's first birthday party on 5/20. The estimated delivery was 5/8 - 5/12 so I thought I was very much in the clear with 1-2 weeks buffer and ordering it a full month early. Well that buffer has completely disappeared and now the item won't arrive until "5/23". All of this isn't great, but the really bad part about it - no communication at ALL. It all has to be me reaching out to them to get updates - the website STILL says 5/8-5/12 delivery (today is 5/17). I never got an email saying "hey your order had a problem" or "we might be a bit late" - nothing! I have chatted with the company on several different occasions, and only on the 5th try did someone give me a new date for delivery. They offered to refund my $12 shipping fee... which I had a promo code and didn't pay for, so they gave me a gift card. This is useless to me since I'm never using this company again.

Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service! We paid for shipping, items were late and did not arrive on time. Chatted and waited three times for representative and kept getting disconnected. Called and managers are useless and said they do not refund shipping. Poor service. Obvious customer service person is contracted out to India.

Bad customer service!
Bad customer service!! I ordered the same prints in April, repeated the order with the same discounts. They were never applied at checkout? Can't talk to anyone? I requested the discounts by chat and ending up being double charged, now I have to dispute with my credit card company! I'll never use them again. They will ruin the experience for you!

SLOW turnaround time that made me miss announcing the event on its actual date. Use another service!
While I liked that I could easily see proofs of the graduation announcements I made, the shipping time is unacceptable and way late in an amazon prime world. I ordered 70 graduation announcements 11 days ago. When making the cards, it showed a 6-8 day estimate to arrive. When I clicked purchase, it then sent a receipt with a 13 day receipt time. I waited for tracking to appear, and it showed a 10 day delivery time which was 1 day within my window of when I needed them to leave town. I waited all day for them to arrive and checked tracking several times. Not here. Very disappointed. Now, even if the quality is good, it won't matter because they will be late once I return from moving my daughter home from college. Poor turnaround time. Use another service.

I have used Shutterfly many times over…
I have used Shutterfly many times over the years. Hence, I never thought to read the reviews when ordering again.... Placed an order early to ensure it would be received in plenty of time for a birthday gift. Received a "shipped" notification within a few days - however the shipment was never received by the carrier. After checking for several day I reached out (no way to reach a live person, only chat) and the order has been reordered and will be received AFTER the birthday occasion. Is Shutterfly broken?? No way to leave review on their site (surprise). Companies need to realize you can't run a company completely automated - there is value in staffing live persons!!!

Now Useless
Shutterfly decided to completely remove the most useful feature of Shared sites with no way to access them and no transfer of data from those sites. Instead of having an alternative and moving these shared pictures somewhere else, they decided to delete all of them. Now years of photos shared between many people are gone with no way to get them back. If the company really cared they could have created an archive and moved the sites and connected photos somewhere else. They also could have not removed tone of the most useful features they had. Now its just a slightly more expensive version of google photos because all you can do now is some scrap booking.
